Nifong Cries out for Help
Nifong, if you recall, was the prosecutor determined to stick it to the Duke Lacrosse team for a rape they were found to be quite innocent of.
He was so far out of line during his prosecution of these men that he was subsequently disbarred, and is now the defendant in a civil suit brought against him by the very men he sought to destroy.
Nifong is requesting that the state of North Carolina pay for his legal fees, because he committed his crime against the men in the name of the state, performing his “duty”.
I think it is funny. He was content to screw over 3 innocent men, and now he wants help! Was he trying to help those men get an adequate defense? I bet not…
