Facebook has been overstating that  they are the safest site for minor children to do their social networking. The Attorney General has told them to stop.

Facebook claims that it is safer for minor do not appear to be true, and could give parents a false sense of safety.

The attorney general’s office said that they must stop representing themselves as pristine and to change their language describing the site. They feel parents are given a wrong impression and by doing that it is misleading them.

investigations have shown that children on Facebook are often solicited for sex, and given pornography.

Facebook is cooperating with the Attorney Generals office. They are “constantly working on processes and technologies that will further improve safety and user control on the site.”
