Myanmar Curfew Lifted
The curfew instituted by the military in Myanmar has been lifted. Previously, citizens had to be int heir homes from 9pm to 5 am, as this was when the military was performing their dirtiest deeds.
The ban of assembly was also repealed. this made illegal for couple to be in groups of 5 or more at any given time. Making things like school, and church impossible.
The fact that the junta is giving these things back to the people is troublesome because it indicates that the regime feels they have squashed the rebellion.
The junta has taken its soldiers out of the streets and went so far as to release some activist leaders. It it working to get in contact for discussion with some of the leaders in hiding.
The people who want democracy are bothered by the sudden complacency. they feel that the junta removed the monks that were demonstrating and jailed all the political dissidents.
No commentsShriver will not return
Maria Shriver has said she will not take back up her news career and Anna Nicole is the reason why she will not. She said the media’s reaction and the way they handled it made her realize how much the industry had changed and she realized she had changed as well.
She had taken a leave when her husband Arnold Schwarzenegger ran for governor in 2003 and she left NBC to find the time to balance her life as First Lady of California and the duties that entailed.
No commentsWeather Improves
The weather in California is shifting for the better.
As you know the fires raging in Southern California are destroying everything in their path and the weather has been fueling them for days, on Saturday the winds were 101 miles per hour and now the winds have have shifted to come from the ocean, brining humidity. They have also slowed down to 50 miles per hour.
This is an optimistic change from the dry winds that were much faster. Fire fighters are hoping this trend will continue. I do too. The amount of damage and injury they have seen in California is enormous.
No commentsNew Governor

The state of Louisiana has elected a new governor, and its set some fascinating records. Bobby Jindel was elected by a landslide, he had 53% of the vote, beating 11 others. The closest percentage to him was 18%.Jindel is America’s youngest governor, and he is the first non-white since Reconstruction. Jindel’s parents came to the states form India to find the American dream. They did well, their son is now a Governor.
Jindel ran in 03, against Blanco, who decided not to run this time through as she received a lot of blame surrounding the hurricane recovery fiasco’s.
Congratulations to the new governor!
No commentsThis Copperfield Mess
Some woman has made allegations of rape against David Copperfield. She claims it occurred in a warehouse in the Bahamas.
I want to laugh and cry at the same time. What a bunch of Bull!
This guy has made 57 million for the last three years. More than 150 million… SO WHY would he rape anything? Women throw themselves at him, and um, what was she doing in the warehouse with him anyways? He needed to show her a pallet of stuff, and she had to see it? CMON!
This guy lives in a mansion, he is called a “living legend” by the Library of Congress. He taught at the New York University at 16! He has supermodels he sleeps with. In fact he was engaged to Claudia Schiffer.
These allegations are just like the ones that people make against celebrities. Its sad and pathetic. And frankly, how does the FBI raid a warehouse int he Bahamas? Is that a state now?
This guy is at the top of the world, and if you think he is raping women or associating with average women from Seattle, you need a reality check. He has enough money to own people. WAKE UP.
I am glad I am not famous.
No commentsHigh Speed Chase
Police tried to pull over a vehicle on the Louisiana interstate that was going almost 25 miles an hour over the speed limit. They put on the sirens and lights but the vehicle did nto stop. Instead it sped up and weaved through traffic at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
Police caught up with the speeder after he pulled off the interstate and into a Burger King parking lot. The driver got out and went inside the BurgerKing, as his mother worked there!
The driver was an 11 year old boy, who had been driving for 6 months. the boy was used to chauffeur his parents around, he had just dropped off his father at the hospital, and was returning to pick mom up from work.
Well I hope you were entertained. Sometimes the news on these sites is wild. It is alot of fun to read however. digghas good stuff too.
His parents were charged with improper supervision of a minor and allowing an unlicensed minor to drive.
No commentsDavid Curry
David Curry has died.
He was a professor of Law at the University of Chicago. He had become sick and then suddenly took a turn for the worse, he was in his early 70’s.
He was a fantastic teacher with a dramatic flair. He will be missed, as I am certain he inspired all of his students.
He was a professor at the university for 45 years, and considered an institution unto himself. There is a recording of him reading the US Constitution on the internet.
My condolences to his family, and I pray that the world that has survived him can be inspired by this great man.
No commentsMyanmar
The military junta in Myanmar has reportedly forced residents to march in support of the regime. They were threatened with heavy fines if they refused.
This is being done in response to a slew of protesting that kicked off with the protest last month done by the Buddhist monks, protesting fuel cost increases.
Leaders of the political opposition have been hunted down alongside prominent activists. they are being kept in horrible conditions, and in separate prisons.
It has been said that they don’t have clean water or toilets, nor room to even lay down. How long before the UN steps in? How is it we can attack Iraq for having poor leadership, but Myanmar isnt discussed? Does Myanmar need a significant oil supply before the world takes notice?
No commentsMandela Still Alive, Someone Inform the President
Nelson Mandela is alive even if George Bush is completely unaware of this fact. Bush is ever the embarrassment of America.
Unfortunately Bush gets worldwide coverage every time he speaks, and most times, he makes a fool of us all.
Officials in South Africa are currently reassuring their citizens that Nelson is alive and that Bush is a moron.
Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years for fighting against the racist white government and apartheid. In 1994 he became the nation’s first back president. Mandela received the Nobel peace prize for his efforts. He is 89 years old.
No commentsEbay Addiction Blamed on Boss
A union official representing 9 nonproductive people fired for being addicted to ebay points his finger at the company boss and says its your fault for letting them have access to the internet.
No, I am not joking.
They are claiming that if the IT department had blocked ebay from their computers using firewall software that they then would not be able to surf to ebay or look at porn during work hours.
Yes, somehow the company is at fault.. They should have babysat the people they pay to come to work.
Thats ridiculous!
Employees were spending up to 2 hours a day on ebay, according to the company’s records.
