Diet Drug causes Suicide
One of the largest drug makers in the world, Sanofi-Aventi, retracted its application for Zimulti weight loss drug here in the states. The FDA voted that Zimulta not be approved because it generates suicidal thoughts.
The pill had a live date of July 26, but the withdrawl of the application was due to there not being enough time to fix the drug. Sanofi-Aventis claims they are dedicated to getting the FDA approval, and will meet with the agency to find out what they need to do to make it right.
FDA shows that the individuals who took 1 pill a day showed significant weight loss. ZImulti with a proper diet had people losing 5% more than just dieting.
The FDA was against the drug because during the trial period 3 people killed themselves. There was an unconfirmed 4th suicide. Studies show that side effects include depression, suicide, and anxiety.
Hey, if you are gonna be depressed and upset, cheaper to just be fat.

Ohio has strict laws regarding this type of thing, stating basically, the owner has committed the act that the animal did. The animals owner is liable whether it occurred in public or in his home. Hes also liable even if the dog had never acted like that prior or ever been aggressive, regardless of wheter the owner thought the dog would act that way. The dog does nto get a free bite. the only defense for the animal is if the injured party had provoked the animal.
Also, the old common law approach is also available for injured plaintiffs. Under the traditional approach, if the owner is aware or has reason to be aware of the dog’s violent propensities, the owner of the dog is liable for injuries caused by the dog.

Varenicline, is a drug marketed to help smokers quit, it may also help get rid of the desire to drink. New studies indicate alcoholic rats cut their drinking in half when on the drug.
18 rats were conditioned to become addicted to alcohol over a 4 month period. the researchers would let the rats drink all day and then at night take the alcohol away from the rats.Withdrawal made the rats drink more and more when it was available, and so would drink more and more.
After months of ninge drinking the drug still cut their alcohol intake in half. And after taken it and then discontinuing the drug the rats were not as inclined to drink alcohol.
One researcher believes that instead of the drug replacing the urges, varenicline is “turning down the reward system”.
